Labels are essential for identifying products, as well as for indicating their contents and the hazard statements. They are often seen on food and beverage containers, pharmaceuticals, and other products with a long shelf life. Labels can be attached to the product or its packaging before it is marketed, or it may be applied at the point of sale by the consumer. The bar code labels are used because they can store a large amount of information about the product in a small space, identified in this article.

Step 1: Determine the type of barcode printer - There are a variety of printers to choose from, but they typically fall into one of two categories: direct thermal or thermal transfer..


Step 2: Consider the type of label material you need to use - Many printers are compatible with both paper and polyester. This is important if you need to print on both during different stages of your production process.


Step 3: Choose between a wax or resin ribbon- wax ribbon, for example, are relatively cheaper with the objective to print information to last a shorter period of time, making them ideal for shipping label purpose. For resin ribbon, it is mainly used for long lasting sticker printing.
