3 common label sensing method use by Zebra label printer for detecting the label size either for standard barcode label or RFID label.
Below are the 3 methods:

1. Gap - The printer detects the different contrast in between label material with the present of Gap in between 2 labels.


2. Notch – The printer detects the empty hole present in the media.


3. Black mark – this is black colour present behind the label material to allow sensor to detect the contrast.
